More about Rev. Shigeru Masaki
Rev. Masaki was born on July 25, 1927 in Kakogawa City, Japan. He was the eldest son of a traditional Buddhist family. At the age of 20, he was baptized into the Christian faith. As a young man, rev. Masaki planned to become a medical doctor. However, god had a different plan for him to become a Lutheran pastor, Evangelist, and Lutheran Hour Speaker. Before and after graduation from the Kobe Lutheran Theological Seminary, rev. Masaki has been used by God to lead many hundreds of Japanese around the world to a saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. From 1987 to 2002, Rev. Masaki, together with his wife, Masae, served as a Missionary to Japanese speaking people throughout the United States under the auspices of the Japanese Mission society, and evangelistic ministry related to the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. He is a rostered LCMS Pastor Emeritus. Pastor Masaki is the author of many worship and counseling publications as well as Christian books, including and explanation to Luther's Catechism entitled "The Six Keys." Rev. and Mrs. Masaki currently live in Kakogawa City, Japan where they continue to enthusiastically share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Christians and non-Christians alike.
